A trip to Vegas is on the line
We are at the knockout stages of the In-Season Tournament as the Milwaukee Bucks face the New York Knicks in the Fiserv Forum for a spot in the semi-finals and a trip to Las Vegas. The Bucks and Knicks played each other in the first game of this tournament’s group stage, which saw Milwaukee win 110-105.
Where We’re At
The Bucks have played 20 games this season. Some feel this team will never hit the next level expected of a title contender. Some feel the team is learning how to win, and that’s the critical part. Either way, it is good to see the Bucks still winning games. Milwaukee has won eight of their last ten, only losing on the road to the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls. Milwaukee won all four of their group games, taking the top spot.
The Knicks have had a good season so far. Since facing Milwaukee, the Knicks have won nine of their thirteen games. New York won the games they were expected to win while falling short of league leaders Boston, Minnesota, and Phoenix. The Knicks finished second in their group behind a strong defense and recently won their last game on Friday against the Toronto Raptors.
Injury Report
The Bucks will be without Jae Crowder (adductor surgery) and Pat Connaughton (left ankle sprain). Andre Jackson Jr is listed as questionable because of lower back spasms. The Knicks have Evan Fournier and DaQuan Jeffries listed as questionable.
Player To Watch
Julius Randle could have had a better time the last time these two teams played. Randle scored 16 points and had 12 rebounds; the issue, though, was that he was 5/20 from the field and 1/9 from three. Randle had no answer to guarding Giannis Antetokounmpo, and he will be tasked with that again. Randle must play better for New York unless Jalen Brunson can carry the Knicks.
