Grayson Allen Had A Three-Letter Reaction To Getting Traded

The Milwaukee Bucks made a blockbuster move on Tuesday, acquiring seven-time All-Star guard Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers in a three-way trade.

One of the players Milwaukee shipped out to make room for Dame was veteran guard Grayson Allen, who is now heading to the Phoenix Suns. Allen spent the last two seasons with the Bucks, averaging 10.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Earlier this month, the former Duke star announced he was changing his jersey number from 12 to 3, the digit he wore in college. At the time, Allen promised Bucks fans it would be his last number change, as he wore No. 7 during his first year in Milwaukee.

In the wake of today’s news, Allen quote-tweeted that pledge to the fans with a simple reaction: “lol.”

What’s that old adage about the best-laid plans? Clearly, Allen wasn’t expecting to be traded, but such is life in pro sports.

The good news for him is he goes from one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference to one of the top squads in the West. Allen should have the opportunity to be part of another deep playoff run.

He’ll be a piece of the supporting cast in Phoenix working with the Suns’ trio of stars, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
