Half: Nets 66, Bucks 54
– Antetokounmpo 12pts/6reb/5ast
– Middleton 10pts/3reb
– Portis 10pts/2reb
Bucks will need to find greater defensive intensity in the second half. Nets largely got what they wanted in the first half. – 9:13 PM

Pretty remarkable that the Bucks have gotten such efficient volume scoring from Giannis/Dame *and* they’re 2nd in 3FG% yet their offense has been so mediocre all year. Even Dame/Giannis lineups have only been average offensively and negative overall. – 9:07 PM

Doc Rivers is going to go with the challenge here on this charge by Giannis Antetokounmpo with 4:05 left in the first half.
Looked like Keon Johnson made a last second adjustment as he tried to take that charge, but we’ll see if that’s how the officials saw it. – 9:00 PM

After one quarter, the Nets lead, 30-23.
Cam Thomas has gotten going early in this one, scoring 12 points in five minutes off the bench for the Nets. Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the Bucks with 8pts/3reb/3ast. – 8:39 PM

After missing three good looks at catch-and-shoot 3s, Brook Lopez gets the Bucks on the scoreboard on a bounce pass from Giannis Antetokounmpo out of a double-team.
Away we go in Milwaukee… – 8:13 PM

If Ball-Mitchell-Tatum-Giannis-Towns start for the East I’m assuming reserves will be: Garland, Brown, Young, Brunson, Mobley, Lillard and maybe Embiid?
With Maxey/Cunningham/Herro next up.
That’s assuming reserves are still 2 G, 3FC, 2 WC. – 1:40 PM

The Bucks came back to pull off a 120-112 victory, outscoring the Pacers 56-29 in the final 19 minutes of the game. Asked after the game why his team kept fighting, Antetokounmpo gave a one-word response, “Doc.” He then elaborated on Coach Rivers’ influence. “Doc,” Antetokounmpo said. “Doc. He said the same thing he said in Brooklyn. Gotta fight through this one. Just gotta fight through this one. Keep on fighting through this one. They’re going to let us back in the game. And like, when a coach says that and then you start fighting and you see it goes from 19 to 15. And then it goes to 11. And then it goes to seven. And then it goes … it just keeps giving you that dopamine hit. “And you’re like, ‘OK, fight a little bit more. Fight a little bit more.’ And all of a sudden, you look up, and it’s a tie game. And now, when you’re there, you’re like, ‘We should just win the game. We’re already here. We should just play a little bit more hard. Two, three more minutes, play good team basketball and win the game.’ And that’s what we did.” -via New York Times / January 1, 2025
