Brook Lopez safe in Milwaukee

August 31, 2024 by Hoops Hype

Brian Windhorst on Brook Lopez: As of right now, I’ve been told firmly that they are not trading him. And so is Brook. Brook heard some of the rumors and said, ‘Hey, what’s going on?’ They’re like, ‘No, we’re not trading you’.

More on this storyline

Hailee Lopez, the wife of Bucks center Brook Lopez, posted images to her Instagram account of herself in Greece on Thursday, and many of the images include Riddlesprigger in a white dress with a “bride” crown. Alex Lasry, former Bucks executive, also posted to Instagram images of he and his wife in Greece. And a fashion designer, George Papadogamvros, posted to social media an image of Antetokounmpo inside his shop, potentially getting fitted for a suit, about 11 weeks ago. -via Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel / August 30, 2024
Jon Horst: This year, I think the fact that we have a set coaching staff, a style of play, a core group of guys centered around Dame and Giannis, Brook and Khris, Bobby and Pat and now an offseason to build out the rest of the roster, I think that’s going to be really beneficial for us. Even with that though, we still had a lot of on-court successes last year with the core group that we had. (Our) big three was a plus-18 net rating, second best in the entire league. -via New York Times / July 26, 2024
Jon Horst on Brook Lopez: Because Brook is so core to who we are, we have zero intentions of trading Brook. Of course he has value around the league. That’s a credit to him. But we’ve not engaged in any real conversations about trading Brook. There are teams that have a lot of value and interest in him. It’s my job to take calls, receive calls, have conversations, but Brook has been and will continue to be core to who we are. I hope that Brook retires as a Milwaukee Buck. -via New York Times / July 26, 2024
