Apologies to all of you who now have to go two days with no Brewer games. In the meantime, read up on Anthony Seigler’s promotion, John Axford’s forthcoming honor, or a wrap-up of the Brewers’ successful June.
Finally, another transaction that is included in the Seigler piece, but I’ll also note here: the Brewers today placed Rob Zastryzny on the 15-day IL (retroactive to June 27) and recalled Easton McGee from Triple-A Nashville.
A couple other notes from today:
- Brandon Woodruff is ready to be activated and will likely start this weekend in Miami
- Garrett Mitchell had surgery today and is likely done for the season, which differs from earlier reports that he might return at the end of this season
- Connor Thomas is having elbow surgery in a couple weeks and is almost certainly done for this season, if not next season as well
- Blake Perkins is scheduled to play nine innings in Nashville tonight and, if all goes well, should be back in the majors imminently
- With Daz Cameron designated for assignment to make room for Anthony Seigler, feel free to speculate on what the active roster move is for Perkins, but it feels like it’s not great news for Andruw Monasterio
