Megill was on the IL for a couple weeks after suffering a concussion when he fainted
The Brewers begin a series against the Cardinals tonight. With an open roster spot, they needed to fill it in advance of tonight’s game. They filled the spot by activating Trevor Megill from the concussion list. In addition, Jake Bauers was placed on the bereavement list and Andruw Monasterio was recalled from Triple-A Nashville.

Megill had suffered the concussion when he fainted in a phone store after returning from the season opener in New York. He pitched in two rehab games for Nashville, pitching a scoreless inning in each. He allowed just one hit and two walks in those games, and struck out three.
Meanwhile, Bauers heads onto the bereavement list. He will be out for at least the series against the Cardinals. Bauers is hitting .158/.220/.316 with one homer and eight RBIs this season.
As a corresponding move, Monasterio was recalled from the Sounds. Monasterio has played in four games for the Brewers this season, going 0-for-7 with two runs scored. In three games with Nashville, Monasterio went 5-for-12 with three RBIs and three runs scored.
There was one other move that was announced on the off-day. The Brewers announced that they traded Vladimir Gutierrez to the Boston Red Sox for cash. The Brewers had selected Gutierrez off of waivers from the Marlins and optioned him to Triple-A. In 4 2⁄3 innings pitched for Nashville, he allowed seven runs. The Brewers had designated him for assignment on Wednesday.
