Ryan Weber was also lost on waivers after being DFA’d.

The Milwaukee Brewers made a highly-anticipated roster move before last night’s game against the Cincinnati Reds to start the second half of the MLB regular season. Kolten Wong was activated off the 10-day Injured List, where he had been since July 2nd while dealing with a calf issue. To make room on the active roster, Pablo Reyes was optioned back to Triple-A Nashville.

Wong has been a dynamic addition atop the lineup for the Brew Crew this year, going 3-for-5 with and RBI and a couple runs scored last night to boost his season-long batting line to .299/.352/.488 with seven home runs and six steals for a career-best 125 OPS+. But he’s been limited to just 54 games so far because of multiple IL stints with calf and oblique issues. A healthy Wong would make a significant difference to the lineup over the last couple months of the season.

Reyes appeared in 6 games and took five plate appearances during his most recent stop in the big leagues with the Brewers, drawing a pair of walks. For the year, he’s hit .212/.255/.250 in 55 plate appearances.

Additionally, the club announced that right-hander Ryan Weber has been claimed off waivers by the Mariners:

The Brewers claimed Weber off waivers from Boston on June 16th, but his time with the organization lasted only a month. He made one MLB appearance, throwing a scoreless inning of relief. For Triple-A Nashville, Weber logged 8.0 innings in two starts while allowing six earned runs. He was designated for assignment four days ago when Kyle Lobstein was picked up from the Nationals.
