Quintana takes the mound with an opportunity for the sweep
The Brewers enter today’s afternoon matchup with a chance at a sweep over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
After limiting the Dodgers to just two runs over the first two games, Milwaukee sends out Jose Quintana to start in this series finale. While his season ERA of 3.44 is still impressive, his last four starts have been much rockier. Over 21 1⁄3 innings, he has a 5.06 ERA in that span. While he hasn’t been an elite starter, he is usually reliable to provide decent length, pitching at least five innings in all but one start this season.
On the mound for Los Angeles, Tyler Glasnow makes his first appearance in his return from injury. He made five starts at the beginning of the season with a 4.50 ERA over 18 innings, but his 3.51 ERA over the prior two seasons is more indicative of his talent.
Sal Frelick is in the lineup spot again, joined in the outfield by Jackson Chourio and Isaac Collins. That leaves room for Christian Yelich to slot in at the designated hitter.
In the infield, William Contreras starts behind the plate. Caleb Durbin, Joey Ortiz, Brice Turang, and Jake Bauers round out the rest of the lineup.
First pitch is at 1:10 p.m. on FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network. The full lineups are posted below.
