Brewers enter tonight with chance for doubleheader sweep
After taking command of the matinee matchup with a grand slam from Joey Ortiz, the Brewers enter tonight in position to sweep the doubleheader and continue their excellent run.
With a 16-9 record this month, it will be Jacob Misiorowski tasked with maintaining the momentum. His early results have shown he’s up for the job. With a 1.13 ERA in three starts, Misiorowski has recorded the win in each of his outings.
On the mound for New York, Huascar Brazobán makes his 35th appearance of the season. While he sports a 3.83 ERA on the season, he’s surrendered 12 runs in just his last 6 2⁄3 innings of work. The right-hander has only recorded one out in each of his last two appearances. After Brazobán, Blade Tidwell, another rookie, is expected to get the bulk of the innings.
In the lineup, Sal Frelick sits atop the order, followed by William Contreras and Christian Yelich. Jackson Chourio, Brice Turang, and Rhys Hoskins slot into the heart of the order. The final three hitters line up as Anthony Seigler, who made his major league debut earlier today, followed by Joey Ortiz and Eric Haase.
For the doubleheader roster management, Craig Yoho was designated as the team’s 27th man for tonight’s game.
