Milwaukee looks to bounce back after disappointing Monday night loss
The Brewers enter today’s game against the Cleveland Guardians searching for momentum. With the team hovering just around .500 in recent weeks, offense has been hard to come by. Over the last 15 days, the Brewers rank last in runs scored.
In search of answers and in response to injuries, the lineup has been adapting recently. Tonight’s batting order features Jackson Chourio in the leadoff spot, followed by Daz Cameron and designated hitter William Contreras.
With Conteras at DH, Christian Yelich will head to left field. Behind him, Rhys Hoskins and Brice Turang fill out the middle of the order. Eric Haase, Andruw Monasterio, and Joey Ortiz fill the six through nine spots.
On the mound, Quinn Priester will look to continue from where he left off in his last start, a five-inning outing in which he allowed just one earned run. His two previous starts had been brutal, allowing 12 earned runs in 9 1⁄3 innings, so the Brewers will hope he can find some rhythm from last time out.
Logan T. Allen will be the starter for the Guardians. The 26-year-old lefty has a 4.33 ERA this season across seven starts. He’s not a wipeout guy, but he’s been fairly consistent this season. He’s allowed more than three earned runs in just two of those seven starts. He rarely gets whiffs, but he’s done a solid job at limiting hard contact.
First pitch today is at 5:10 p.m. on FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
