Will Quinn Priester continue to impress?
The Brewers took another tough loss last night and they’ll rely on another unexpected contributor to help bounce back.
Quinn Priester is back on the mound after three impressive starts to his Milwaukee tenure. He has a 1.93 ERA, but he hasn’t pitched more than five innings in any of those games. His last start was his most troublesome as he allowed four walks in just four innings but limited his opponents to two runs.
After Garrett Mitchell’s injury, the outfield takes on a different look today. Sal Frelick will move into center to start with Jackson Chourio in left field and Jake Bauers in right.
For the infield, Caleb Durbin takes third base alongside Joey Ortiz. On the right side of the infield, Brice Turang and Rhys Hoskins man their usual spots.
With William Contreras behind the plate, Christian Yelich slots in at designated hitter. Yelich’s season-long numbers are still catching up, but he’s been hitting well over the past few weeks with a .879 OPS over his last 15 games.
Sonny Gray will be the starter for St. Louis. He has started the season with a 3.41 ERA and last allowed three runs in six innings against the Mets. In April, he’s been in command of the zone with a 23:2 strikeout to walk ratio.
First pitch is at 1:15 p.m. CT on FanDuel Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
