Steve Karsay has served as bullpen coach for the past three seasons.
Follow the 2021 season, the Milwaukee Brewers were expecting to retain all of their coaches except for their hitting coaches. The team already hired Ozzie Timmons and Connor Dawson to be co-hitting coaches to replace the spots held by Andy Haines and Jacob Cruz. However, it looks like they may have another spot to fill. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that bullpen coach Steve Karsay is expected to step away due to family considerations.
Karsay was hired in November 2018 and has coached this team to one of the strongest bullpens in the major leagues. With relievers Josh Hader and Devin Williams leading the pack, the team has had one of the best bullpens in the league over the past few seasons. The team has not announced the move, and David Stearns did not comment on the report.
The report from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel also mentioned Matt Erickson of the Timber Rattlers as a potential candidate for the major league coaching staff. Erickson has served in the Brewers minor league system in some capacity for the past 13 seasons. Stearns also did not comment on that report either.
