Top Pitching Performance of the Week
Just like last week, there were a few solid contenders. Quinn Priester (5 IP, 1 H, 0 ER), Freddy Peralta (5 IP, 7 H, 0 ER), and Jose Quintana (5 2⁄3 IP, 4 H, 1 ER) each pitched well and got the Brewers a win. Chad Patrick ended up with the loss, but pitched what was probably his best game in the pros.
After today’s game, though, I have to pick Logan Henderson in what was his major league debut. Henderson, the Brewers’ No. 12 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, racked up a whopping nine strikeouts through six innings on the way to his first win as a Brewer. He’s not a finished product yet, by any means, but the early signs are more than encouraging:

Top Hitting Performance of the Week
Rhys Hoskins bounced back nicely this week after a lackluster start to the season (and, well, his tenure as a Brewer). Hoskins went 9-for-20 (.450) on the week, leading the Brewers in hits (nine), RBIs (eight), and home runs (three). His average is now all the way up to .262 after today’s 3-for-5 outing against the A’s. Sal Frelick (8-for-20, 1.200 OPS) and Christian Yelich (7-for-18, 5 RBI) also had standout weeks for the Crew.

Injury Notes & Roster Moves
- The Brewers signed a couple of pitching prospects out of Venezuela this week — 18-year-old Albert Vargas and 20-year-old Jesus Molina. Both players will be assigned to the Dominican Summer League (DSL) Brewers.
- RHP Elvin Rodriguez (0-2, 7.53 ERA) was optioned to the Triple-A Nashville Sounds on Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the Brewers recalled RHP Logan Henderson.
- INF Oliver Dunn (.167 batting average) was also optioned to Nashville in favor of INF Caleb Durbin, who has started the last three games for the Brewers at third base.
- Tobias Myers and Brandon Woodruff both continued their rehab assignments. Myers has now made three rehab starts, including his most recent outing on Friday (5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER). It’s expected that he will make his season debut this Thursday against San Francisco.
- Woodruff isn’t too far behind, either — Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that the Brewers have circled early May as a target date for Woody’s return.
